The 7-points nutritional profile of each product (food item) is calculated based on the entered values from the table nutritional values per 100 grams or 100 ml on the back of the packaging.
The 7-points nutritional profile shows at a glance how healthy a product is. The 7-points nutritional profile makes a healthy product measurable.
A healthy product/meal/diet contains nutritionally:
1. maximum 35 En% fat
2. maximum 10 En% saturated fat
3. maximum 70 En% carbohydrates
4. maximum 25 En% sugars
5. maximum 35 En% protein
6. maximum 0.3 grams salt per 100 kcal
7. minimum 1.3 grams fibre per 100 kcal
A maximum of 35 En% fat means that the number of grams of fat contributes a maximum of 35% to the total calorie content (kcal) of the product/meal/diet.
In a diet of 2000 kcal, 35 En% fat corresponds to 77.8 grams of fat (77.8X9 kcal = 700.2 kcal. 700.2 kcal contributes 35% to 2000 kcal). 1 gram of fat provides 9 kcal, 1 gram of carbohydrates, 1 gram of sugar or 1 gram of protein provides 4 kcal and 1 gram of fiber provides 2 kcal.
0.3 grams salt per 100 kcal corresponds to 6 grams of salt per 2000 kcal diet.
1.3 grams fibre per 100 kcal corresponds to 26 grams of fiber per 2000 kcal diet.
Unhealthy products can always be part of a daily healthy diet as long as you make corrections in the following products for the unhealthy part of the previous product.
A daily healthy diet is not a diet with only healthy products but is a diet with mainly healthy products.
Low-fat diet: maximum 30 En% fat, maximum 7 En% saturated fat. They are suitable for overweight people and heart patients.
High-fiber diet: minimum 1.5 grams fibre per 100 kcal. They are suitable for overweight people and heart patients.
Low-salt diet: maximum 0.2 grams salt per 100 kcal. They are suitable for heart patients, kidney patients and people with a high blood pressure.
High-sugar diet: minimum 25 En% sugars. They are suitable for top athletes.
Low-sugar diet: maximum 10 En% sugars. They are suitable for diabetics.
High-carbohydrate diet: minimum 55 En% carbohydrates. They are suitable for top athletes.
Low-carbohydrate diet: maximum 40 En% carbohydrates. They are suitable for diabetics.
High-protein diet: minimum 20 En% protein. They are suitable for top athletes
Low-protein diet: maximum 10 En% protein. They are suitable for kidney patients.
