The investigators found in a review article of a total of 16 studies, comprising 2587 participants and 75 correlation coefficients, that a high relative (%) adipose mass reduces bone mineral density in overweight (BMI = 25-30) and obese populations (BMI > 30), particularly in men and those aged less than 25 years.
